PUBLISHING BACKGROUND
It took me four years to write WHERE IT ALL LANDS, including two years during which I queried on and off. I signed with my agent, Alex Rice, in 2019 and she sold WHERE IT ALL LANDS in three weeks. I am currently back on sub with a second young adult novel, while I draft a third. I am also toying with an idea for an adult novel that I’m hoping to begin drafting in 2022.
EXPERIENCE
I was an AMM Round 8 mentor and I have worked with many CPs on various manuscripts. My longtime CP recently signed with an agent and my Round 8 mentee is receiving full requests. In addition, I majored in English as an undergrad and I have participated in many writing workshops throughout my career.
OVERVIEW
I had a wonderful experience as an AMM Round 8 mentor last year. I am still in touch with my mentee and rooting her on as she goes through the query process. I am excited to be a mentor again for Round 9 and I am looking forward to reading submissions.
I am looking for a manuscript that is character driven and emotional. I am mentoring for contemporary young adult and I typically prefer stories with a strong romantic element. The romance doesn’t have to be the main plot, but it should be a significant part of the story. I love lyrical prose and strong, snappy dialogue. I am also a sucker for multiple POV, complicated family dynamics, and strong female friendships.
